The Catamount is a premium all-terrain sandal that is hand made in Seattle using the highest quality materials. It has a 2-3 mm shell cordovan leather upper and a specially acquired 4mm Vibram® rubber sole with superb tread and durability. The shell cordovan upper molds well to your foot and like many fine leather products, it gets more supple and comfortable with use.
The Catamount is a versatile sandal that is rugged enough for all types of trails, yet performs well on paved surfaces, and is also great for casual wear. It has been tested for hundreds of miles through the rough trails of the Colorado Rockies. It provides great rock protection and grip while still allowing for firm ground feel.
The Catamount weighs in at 6 oz. for a size 9 with 5/8" elasticized laces.
As with all Premium Model Luna Sandals, The Catamount can be resoled and new laces can be added.
****UPDATE****
All sandal models with elasticized laces will come with the new elasticized lace attachment system. The new Elasticized Lace attachment system eliminates the wear on the lace at the toe hole, makes our sandals completely flat underfoot, is still interchangeable with traditional laces, looks much cleaner, and uses a strong flexible ribbon between the toes that is the most comfortable solution yet! This system uses a plug that is countersunk, making it completely level with the bottom of the sandal. The ribbon between the toes allows for even the narrowest toe gaps to be comfortable, eliminating the need to use a narrower lace.
All traditional laces will still be tied with the traditional knot, but with this countersunk method the knot will sit deeper in the sandal making it less prone to abrasion and longer lasting. The traditional laces also now include a washer between the knot and sandal to prevent the knot from pulling through the toe hole. All future orders of extra traditional laces will now come with a black washer to install with the lace.

Measure your foot:
1. Stand with your heels against a flat vertical wall. Your heels should be just touching the wall, not pressing into it.
2. Slide a ruler under each foot and take the measurement in centimeters from the wall to the tip of your longest toe.
3. Take the longer of the two foot measurements.
***The chart below lists the actual length and width of our sandal sizes. For wiggle room, take the measurement of your foot and add 1/2 cm or more. Find the size below that best fits the length.
For example, our Head Craft Monkey's feet measure exactly 29 cm. He added 1/2 cm and chose a size 11.5 which is 29.51 cm long. The size 11.5 fits him perfectly!
You can also measure the widest part of your forefoot to make sure it is not considerably wider or narrower than the sandal.
For example, our Head Craft Monkey's feet measure about 11.5 cm wide at the forefoot. The size 11.5, at 11.85 cm wide is the perfect width for him.

Question:
Can this sandal be resoled? Can new laces be added later?
Answer:
Ideally you won't need a new lace for a LONG time. When the time comes, we'll have refurbishment programs where we can resole and lace, or convert to a toe holed sandal.
