 Originally from Bavaria, Fran traveled to the states to run a marathon in sandals, where she ended up meeting her (now) husband. Fran was inspired by embracing her true calling, and being so unapologetically herself, that she now coaches othes looking to embark on the same journey.

"Hi my name is Franziska Maria Chaidez Pretsch, short Fran :-) I am a Bavarian Woman, currently living in the USA with my Mexican husband. I have been a runner for 20 years! The whole philosophy behind LUNA Sandals, the story behind it, so speaks to me & who I am too. When I run, I feel in tune with nature, running with the earth I am carried by her. It confirmed for me exactly what I already felt. Running isn’t just physical exercise. It’s being in flow with yourself & nature."

"In 2022 I went to Mexico and ran the Caballo Blanco Marathon in LUNA Sandals. A month after that I ran my first Ultra in the USA, also in LUNA Sandals, and in a traditional Mexican dress :-) My husband and I met while we were running, and now we are married and run mostly together. It’s something that I love so much, that we can run together & use the strength we get from it for all areas of our life. Running long distances brings you to your edge. And together you can support yourselves through to go further."

"For me running free is a total metaphor for Life. When we are connected to the earth, to our roots, we get through anything in life. We feel grounded & nothing can throw us off our path. Living connected also brings so much freedom for us. As we take each step consciously, deciding in each moment what it is that we want to create."
